Synthetic Modelling involves creating a virtual copy of an environment, such as a city, region, or municipality, that includes everything from buildings, utilities, and roads to weather, policies, technologies, and, most importantly, people. This virtual copy is referred to as a Synthetic Twin.
Synthetic Modelling generates results and data that are unbiased, not having to rely on surveillance or historic data. Synthetic Data fills the gap where data may be missing or not capturable either due to privacy concerns or other factors, completing key datasets. Multiple data sources can be combined to create a more enriched database than those built from national surveys or census alone.
We can create any city in the world in digital environments, known as Synthetic Environments, and include interconnected inputs as factors that affect outcomes. This includes a city’s population, infrastructure, businesses, technologies, policies and investments, that can be understood to dial-forward different scenarios, calculating impacts and outcomes for decision-making.
