Synthetic Waterloo Intelligent Futures Technology
SWIFT is RWI’s first open synthetic modelling hub, created in partnership with Dr. Dillon Brown (University of Waterloo), Founder and Director of FamilyPsycle®.
The SWIFT Hub is powered by RUNWITHIT Synthetics’ Synthetic Canada, including RWI's 6D Synthetic Intelligence Platform tools, technologies, techniques and INFLECTOR AI engine.
SWIFT serves as a shared space that promotes interdisciplinary convergence around key challenges. Researchers, students, local and industry subject matter experts can bring and connect their knowledge and work to a live sandbox environment to explore and advance applications and solutions alongside community organizations and representatives, government, industry and others.
Convergence includes designing and developing shared tools, data streams, models, and accessible, sophisticated “what-if” forward scenarios.
Together, this interdisciplinary space bridges ideas and agency across health, infrastructure, sustainability, the environment, climate resilience, and economic systems to promote novel innovations and solutions.
RUNWITHIT’s 6D Synthetic Intelligence Platform enables researchers and communities to connect knowledge, data and ideas with a living model to explore interconnections as well as generational impact.
Rather than viewing problems in isolation, SWIFT examines how individuals, families, communities, organizations, and systems interact over time, transforming data into actionable insights that support healthier people, stronger communities, and more resilient futures.
Foundational Principle
At the core of the culture and practice embedded in the SWIFT Hub is regional enablement.
Every participant is asked to consider: "What do you need, and what can you offer in return?" This reciprocal approach ensures that all participants who engage with the SWIFT Hub actively contribute to building and strengthening the Region of Waterloo by leaving behind valuable data, funding, support, or research outcomes that advance the Hub’s mission.

Partnerships
SWIFT is RWI’s first open synthetic modelling hub, created in partnership with Dr. Dillon Brown (University of Waterloo), Founder and Director of FamilyPsycle®.
Membership in the SWIFT Hub is open to individuals and organizations who want to contribute to, participate in, or champion the initiative. This includes researchers, students, community organizations and representatives, government, industry, philanthropists and others.
Individuals and organizations can engage with the SWIFT Hub in several ways, from working on a project or initiative to contributing data, funding, space, or in-kind support, to acting as a champion of the Hub by raising awareness and promoting engagement. There is also an opportunity to license the technology for use.
SWIFT Launch Event
The soft launch of SWIFT took place on May 29, 2026, with innovators, collaborators, and academics gathering at the City of Kitchener's SDG Idea Factory for the formal announcement.
