Welcome to Synthetic Canada
Synthetic Canada empowers people-first, evidence-driven decision intelligence, reducing risk, providing certainty and precision with speed.
Synthetic Canada empowers people-first, evidence-driven decision intelligence, reducing risk, providing certainty and precision with speed.
Synthetic Canada is RUNWITHIT Synthetics’ high-fidelity 6D sandbox (3D GIS, Context, Time, & People agentic entity AI) for industry, governments, and communities to see, solve, and operationalize de-risked investments and policy in today’s dynamic landscape.
Synthetic Canada turns living systems into worlds of opportunity and probability, from security, economics, and environment to communities, complete with critical infrastructure, housing, industry and technology. Most uniquely, Synthetic Canada allows us to see Canadians and the impacts of all choices on our health, lives and livelihoods.
Through Synthetic Canada, users can overlay and explore the intersection of all elements of the built environment, including transportation, grid infrastructure, and the natural environment, in real-time, across global, national, and regional contexts.
In addition, Synthetic Canada contains a representative synthetic population, ensuring the human element is never left behind in decision-making, with information spanning demographics, economics, and health conditions, using never-identified data.
Canadian Communities are already accessing and using our technology; we’ve been recognized regionally and have won Alberta Science and Technology Awards (ASTech) Awards in “AI/ML in Simulation” and “Innovation of the Year.”
the world of objects and place-based intelligence
the world of process, forecasts, projections, predictions and timeframes
the world of the unprecedented, imaginable and unimaginable conditions
Synthetic Canada challenges the standard assumptions of AI capabilities and requirements with its hyper-efficiency and fractional compute requirements.
RWI Labs, a division of RWI Synthetics, created the proprietary technology that powers Synthetic Canada: INFLECTOR AI, our agent-based, inferential, artificial intelligence.
To create Synthetic Canada — a synthesized version of all the individuals and households in Canada, with demographic and geographic accuracy within 5% — ChatGPT estimated it would require 3,000,000 litres of water, 1,500 kilowatt-hours of electricity, and 1,500 kg of CO2e.
In comparison, INFLECTOR AI completed this challenge while consuming only 3 kilowatt-hours of electricity, using 2-10 litres of water, and producing 100-200 grams of CO2e.
An advanced 6D generative AI platform that transforms cities, regions, and environments into detailed 3D models enriched with time (4D), context (5D), and hyperlocalized population data (6D).
The ability to rapidly create complex synthetic twin environments for immediate application across use cases.
The technology can be deployed in any environment, from the office to the field, and used on a laptop or tablet.
Minimal energy consumption with no need for data centres or additional power or water sources.
Data is stored within Canada.
Complex problems in the north require hyper-local insights and tailored solutions as Arctic and sub-Arctic investments accelerate. RWI responded by creating Synthetic North, a 1.35 million m² high-fidelity Synthetic Twin with 15 million data points to support strategic decision-making.
RWI is receiving advisory support and funding from NRC IRAP to research mapping disease conditions in rural and remote synthetic populations. This work, part of an international consortium under the Eureka ITEA cluster, models, analyzes, and visualizes the deployment of connected care interventions.
By analyzing existing infrastructure, costs, cargo, and revenues, RWI used Synthetic Twins to identify growth barriers and simulate future GDP and carbon outcomes, enabling high-fidelity ROI and ROIC estimates for infrastructure, workforce, land, and logistics investments in the Edmonton region.
We have just completed the ISED testing stream with Shared Services Canada and partner Sturgeon County, delivering a series of interactive workshops that engaged municipal leaders and emergency services in tabletop exercises across the country to work through climate events, disaster mitigation, energy security, and system outage cascades.
In Western Canada, rising urban-wildfire interactions prompt emergency responders to identify infrastructure and policy risks, and RWI’s Synthetic Intelligence helps municipalities find the most efficient, cost-effective, and human-focused evacuation options.
New grid load dynamics challenge traditional forecasting, prompting utilities like ENMAX Power to rethink existing processes. We addressed this by creating a 6D Synthetic Twin of Calgary that forecasts 2050 electrification demand with inflectable scenarios.
Wildfire particulate matter (PM2.5) is a dangerous carcinogen, with its effects becoming acute and chronic alongside summer wildfires. We synthesized the impact of wildfire smoke on our Synthetic Twin of the Edmonton Metropolitan region, demonstrating how prior conditions, poor indoor air quality, outdoor work, and more are exacerbated by particulate matter, leading to adverse health outcomes.
